Not Ready for Mom Jeans by Maureen Lipinski

A follow up to her first hilarious novel, A Bump in the Road, Lipinski gives us a laugh-out-loud novel about motherhood, life, and the quest for eight hours of sleep.
Event planner and famous blogger Clare Finnegan expected to go back to work after her daughter was born. After all, she worked hard for her success…and it's not like now that she has a child she has to buy a minivan, wear Mom Jeans, and give up her career! Right? Despite more than a few pounds of baby weight still left to lose, Clare returns to work. But when her husband gets a promotion, she struggles with the big question. Is it better to work or stay home?

This book was absolutely hilarious and the perfect read for any mom. Make sure you read A Bump in the Road first!

Ghost Town by Rachel Caine

While developing a new system to maintain Morganville's defenses, Claire discovers a way to re-establish the field around this vampire-infested Texas college town that protects it from outsiders. Unfortunately, the new upgrades have an unexpected consequence, people inside the town begin to slowly forget who they are. Soon, the town's little memory problem has turned into a full-on epidemic. Now Claire needs to figure out a way to pull the plug on her experiment, before she forgets how to save Morganville.

I loved this book and read it in a day! This series is so fun to read and Rachel Caine keeps coming up with great plot ideas! Her tenth novel Bite Club is already out and the next, Last Breath, will be out in November 2011.

Kiss of Death by Rachel Caine

Vampire musician Michael Glass has attracted the attention of a big time producer who wants to cut a demo and play some gigs, which means Michael will have to enter the human world. For this, he's been assigned escorts that include both a dangerous immortal as well as Michael's all-too-human friends. And with that mix of personalities, this is going to be a road trip from hell.

This was a fast paced adventure! I love this series and Rachel Caine doesn't disappoint in her eighth book!

Dark Flame by Alyson Noel

The fourth installment in this series, Dark Flame, finds Ever struggling to help her best friend Haven transition into life as an immortal. Ever is still battling Roman and trying to obtain the antidote that will allow her and Damen to be together. But when the spell she casts backfires, resulting in a strange, foreign pulse that binds her to Roman instead. Ever turns to dark magick, desperately attempting to break free of the curse, and ultimately risking everything she knows and loves.

I just can't bring myself to read the last two books in this series. After this one I just keep thinking, get it over with already! Very sad because it started so strong. I think six books were two too many for this story line. Not sure if I will finish them.

Cross Your Heart by Michele Bardsley

Broken Heart, Oklahoma, has become the epicenter for the supernatural, inhabited by all sorts of paranormal beings. Some residents were made into vampires by accident, including Elizabeth Bretton. Elizabeth loves not aging and living in her Victorian mansion until a secret room is discovered. Suddenly Elizabeth is confronted with a ghost that wants to kill her, the whole town is subject to a mysterious evil, and an amazingly attractive man appears. Can she get to the bottom of this mystery without losing her heart?

This is the seventh book in the Broken Heart series. I've read a few of these and always enjoy them. This was a quick read and a fun mystery to unravel.

Accidentally Dead by Dakota Cassidy

It's a lousy first day as a dental assistant for Nina Blackman when a patient, loopy from the anesthesia, bites her. Nina wakes up with a set of razor-sharp fangs, bionic vision, supersonic hearing, and a taste for blood. Nina makes it her mission to track down her patient and make him turn her back! Unfortunately, she finds that she's stuck as a vampire and no matter how much she hates her "creator", she can't deny her attraction.

This was a very fun read. Perfect for the beach or pool. Check out the other books in the Accidentals series!

Passion by Lauren Kate

In the third novel of the Fallen series, Luce is traveling through her past lives to discover the key to ending Daniel's curse, and making their love last. Daniel and Luce's friends frantically chase Luce through time, terrified of what might happen if she rewrites history.

This was a very easy read and moving through different time periods kept my interest most of the time. However, I did feel the story could have moved along a little faster in the middle. The final book Rapture will be out in Spring 2012.

Bossypants by Tina Fey

Tina Fey takes you behind the scenes to discover how she became the woman we know today. This hilarious look at the world through her eyes will keep you laughing the whole way through. The real message here is that women are just as funny as men, are completely capable of being the boss, and Amy Poehler doesn't give a crap what you think of her.

I absolutely adored this memoir! Tina Fey's witty humor is evident on every page. I really enjoyed learning about how hard she has worked to get where she is.
