Paranormalcy by Kiersten White

When Evie was 8, the International Paranormal Containment Agency (IPCA) realized that she could see through the glamours that paranormals cast and they immediately brought her in. She's been working for them ever since, bagging and tagging paranormals for neutralization. Her best friend is a mermaid who runs central processing, her ex-boyfriend is an extremely controlling faerie, and her mother figure is the head of her branch of IPCA, but what Evie wants more than anything is to be normal. When a strange boy breaks into their building, Evie finds him and stops him. She is fascinated with what she sees under his glamour: the boy looks as if he's made of water. Evie is fascinated and begins spending all of her free time with Lend. Then she learns that paranormals are being murdered and IPCA can't come up with an explanation. When she begins having dreams about a prophetic poem, she begins to wonder if maybe she's just as paranormal as the creatures she hunts.

Loved, loved, loved this book! Evie cracks me up because she's so girlie but also completely kick-ass. And the relationship that her and Lend build is so very sweet. Not to mention the surprise of finding out what she is and why Reth was being so hard core about forcing things on her... Reading the second one, Supernaturally, right now! Endlessly, the final book in this trilogy, is supposed to release sometime in 2012.
