Endure by Carrie Jones

Zara is at the center of an all-out war, and an impending apocalypse. Bedford is being ravaged by evil pixies and they need much more than one great warrior; they need an army. Zara's not just fighting for her friends, she’s also a pixie queen. To align her team of pixies with the humans she loves will be one of her greatest battles yet. Dealing with the rejection of her former love Nick, and her growing feelings for her pixie king Astley adds to her problems. Zara must embark on a dangerous journey to save the world and fulfill her destiny.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the end of this series! I wish it weren't over, but I'm very happy with the way it ended. If you haven't read these yet, get busy!

Deadlocked by Charlaine Harris

Growing up with telepathic abilities, Sookie Stackhouse realized early on there were things she’d rather not know. Felipe de Castro, the Vampire King of Louisiana (and Arkansas and Nevada), is in town. It’s the worst possible time for a human body to show up in Eric’s front yard, especially the body of the woman whose blood he just drank. Sookie and her friends must solve the murder, while keeping themselves alive. It's hard to believe this is the 12th book in the Sookie series! Charlaine does not disappoint and this series still keeps me riveted. The best part is that it's like watching a really long episode of True Blood! :)

Bloodlines by Richelle Mead

When alchemist Sydney is ordered into hiding to protect the life of Moroi princess Jill Dragomir, the last place she expects to be sent is a human private school in Palm Springs, California. Sydney runs into some familiar faces on her new journey. She is working hard to redeem herself with the alchemists. However, what she discovers may threaten her current position, her safety and her life. I am EXTREMELY pleased with this new series! I was a little worried that I wouldn't like this spin off series as much as Vampire Academy. Richelle Mead has really developed Sydney and I am hooked! Can't wait to read The Golden Lily!

Fangtastic by Lucienne Diver

When “undercover” involves infiltrating a lair of nightclub poser vamps killing people in Florida, the only way to blend in is to stand out. Gina, Bobby and Marcy are on another mission to solve some gruesome murders. Gina's assignment will bring her and her friends closer to true death than ever before. Another fun and action packed book. These are great beach reads!

ReVamped by Lucienne Diver

ReVamped is the follow up to Vamped. Gina Covello goes undercover as teen goth Geneva Belfry to find out why the teens of quiet little Wappingers Falls on the Hudson River are suddenly erupting in violence, failing tests, and sleepwalking. Gina's super hot, vampire boyfriend Bobby is also a new FBI trainee and ready to help crack the case.

Again, this was a really fun book to read. The main character Gina has a snarky wit that keeps readers wanting more. Can't wait to read the next installment, Fangtastic!

Vamped by Lucienne Diver

Gina makes out with nerdy, but newly hot Bobby after prom. Later, her boyfriend Chaz crashes his car with her in it! She wakes up and claws her way out of the grave, adjusting quickly to the fact that she is now undead. Bobby meets her at the cemetery to take responsibility for his newly turned "child". Gina and Bobby are captured and end up part of a prophecy. They must fight alongside their friends to stop an evil vampiress from taking over. I stumbled across this book and was instantly captivated by the witty and charming main character Gina. This is a fun and easy read. More importantly the author lives a few neighborhoods away from me! This is the first in a ser ies!

Monday

The Fire by James Patterson

Wist and Wisty continue to fight for their lives against The One Who Is The One. In the third and final book, they must infiltrate enemy headquarters, escape capture and journey to the Shadowland to save their parents. Most importantly, they must figure out how to use their Magic and fulfill the prophesies.

I really enjoyed this series. However, I was a little disappointed in some aspects. The magic or gift that these two characters possess is never fully explained. This left me a little bitter. I just felt there was a lot of time spent throughout the series talking about their gifts and how they don't understand them. I expected it to be explained at some point. All in all a good series and worth the read.

Reason to Breathe by Rebecca Donovan

Emma is an amazing student and star soccer player. Her best friend is one of the most popular girls in school. Her classmates confuse her focus and shy demeanor for conceite. What they don't know is that Emma has a terrible secret. A secret that she must keep if she wants to survive. Her life, though difficult, is predictable. Then she meets Evan. All he wants is to know her, but trusting him could cost her everything.

I stumbled across this book completely by accident and was beyond captivated. I literally had to stop reading another book so I could finish this one. I am SO excited to read the sequel. I highly recommend this!!

Torn by Margaret Peterson Haddix

In the fourth book in The Missing Series, we find Jonah and Katherine stuck in 1611 trying to repair the damage that has been done to time. The evil Second has manipulated them once again and their lives, as usual, are in jeopardy.

This book took me a while to finish. There was plenty of action just like the previous books, but I just had a hard time staying focused. I will definitely finish the series and I still thing these are great books for kids!

Saturday

Crossed by Ally Condie

After watching Ky being taken away by Officials during the night, Cassia knows that he is being sent to the Outer Provinces and his death. Cassia is being shipped from work camp to work camp as the Society tries to mold her back into the sorter she was slated to be. She is still in contact with Xander, her Society Match. Ky is fighting to stay alive and burying the bodies of the boys who don't make it in the villages where they are serving as decoys for the Enemy. Both hear rumors of the Rising, a group who is rebelling against the Society. But when Ky and Cassia both break free, they find information that not only makes them further question the Society, but also whether their love can really last.

The beginning of this story was great: bouncing between narration by Cassia and Ky, knowing how hard they were trying to get back to each other, and seeing the obstacles they were both trying to overcome. I was very disappointed with the ending, though, because it was very abrupt. I'm hoping that it was just because there's much more to come in the final book of this trilogy that still doesn't have a name and is (hopefully) coming out in November 2012!

Catching Fire & Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

Not wanting to ruin book 1 of the Hunger Games, I decided not to post a synopsis for either of the last books of the trilogy. Rather, I'd like to say that after reading The Hunger Games, you must keep reading to know how things end. It's hard to believe, but in many ways, the last two books are even more intense than the first book. I felt helpless and desolate while reading parts of the books, crying as things unfolded, and even the 'happy ending' is somewhat tainted. LOVE these books because they are so different than most anything out there. Highly, HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommended!
