Forever by Maggie Stiefvater

Grace is living as a wolf in the Boundary Wood. Cole and Sam are living together in Beck's old house, trying to find a cure to the shifts that take them from their human bodies and minds. Isabel's father is getting closer to gaining permission to hunt down the wolves of Mercy Falls, and when a girl is found dead, her body showing all the signs of being attacked by a wolf, he finally has the ammunition he needs to get rid of the wolves for good.

As much as I hate to say this, the ending of this series was lacking. Don't get me wrong, there was a lot going on throughout the story and I really enjoyed the suspense leading up to the final hunt, but when I finally got there and there were only 11 pages left, I kind of knew that I was going to be disappointed. I almost feel like she had hit her deadline or page quota or something along those lines so "Well, here's as good a place to end as any." There are so many questions left unanswered that it doesn't feel like the series should be over, but after reading her notes and acknowledgements, she is very firm in the fact that this is the last book about the wolves of Mercy Falls. This may sound harsh, but I almost wish she would've just left Shiver as a stand-alone book because it was so good and the other two just did not live up to it.

Matched by Ally Condie

Cassia relies on the Society for everything. Using data that they constantly collect, they dictate how she dresses, what she eats, when she gets leisure time and what is acceptable to do during it, what her job will be, even when she will die. They also Match her to the person who will, statistically, allow her to have the happiest marriage and the healthiest children. At her Match Banquet, she is surprised to learn that her Match is not a stranger from another province, but Xander, a boy who has been her best friend for years. When she gets home and looks at her Match card, the face on the screen is not Xander but Ky, an Aberration who lives in her province and will never be Matched because of his status. Cassia is told that it was a computer glitch, but she begins to gravitate towards Ky, and as they begin to spend more time together, she begins to question everything she thought she knew about the Society.

I'll be perfectly honest and say that as I read the beginning of this book, I felt claustrophobic. That's how real this Society feels. I wanted to break free from it and actually breathed a little easier when Cassia began to feel that way as well. With the way this book ended, I am anxiously waiting for book 2 in the series,Crossed, which is set to release on November 1, 2011.

City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare

Now that the Mortal War is over, life can go back to normal, with a few exceptions. Simon is a daywalking vampire living with his mother. Luke and Jocelyn are (finally!) planning their wedding. Clary is training to be a Shadowhunter, and her and Jace are able to be open about their relationship. When they begin finding murdered Shadowhunters throughout the city and there are multiple attempts on Simon's life, it's time for the Clave to step in and fight some demons. But when Jace starts pulling away from Clary, he has to fight his inner demons or risk losing her forever.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Cassandra Clare is one of my favorite authors! I have to admit that I'm a bit peeved about the slight (HUGE!) cliffhanger at the end, but I know from reading her that it will all pay off in the end. And poor Jace! He is practically tortured throughout this whole book. I can not wait for City of Lost Souls to be released on May 8, 2012!

Awaken by Katie Kacvinsky

Maddie lives in the year 2060, a world where everything is done on the computer. Whether it’s school, shopping, dating, people don’t venture out of their homes. There’s really no need. For the most part, Maddie’s okay with the solitary, digital life, until she meets Justin.
Suddenly, Maddie feels something awakening inside her,a feeling that maybe there is a better way to live. Maddie is going to have to learn to stand up for herself and take risks if she wants to change the path her life is taking.

This book was AMAZING! I could not put it down and the message really resonates. I am thrilled that there is a sequel in the works! I just wish it was available NOW!

Bite Club by Rachel Caine

There's a new extreme sport getting picked up on the Internet in Morganville, bare- knuckle fights pitting vampires against humans. Tracking the remote signal leads Claire to a race to find out whose behind these fights and save Shane before she loses him forever.

Another page turner from this series. I just love these books! Next one is out in November.
